Peace Mountain Ranch (PMR) provides an opportunity for each Veteran to consider where they have been and what they want their future to look like. PMR provides several different meaningful programs: one-on-one in-person counseling for Veterans (by appointment or by staying at the Ranch for a few days); counseling for Veterans and their their families; small group events; and continuing follow-on care. While at PMR, the journey is centered around peer-based relationships, equine engagement, instructional sessions, and activities designed to challenge each Veteran to overcome where they have been and to establish a new path of purpose. Each Veteran will be challenged to look at the stressors confronting them: issues around daily military life, combat deployments, and the symptoms of post-traumatic stress (PTS). PMR realizes success only comes as each Veteran is able to identify and fight through these challenges and fears. It is not surprising that these struggles might have been limiting personal success but their future does not have to stay in this same pattern. PMR desires to provide a place of peace for our Veterans, to find common ground through shared experiences and understanding, allowing greater potential for growth and life reintegration. We will have an open dialogue about discipline, brotherhood, courage, honor, commitment, faith, and family. As a solid foundation is restored, a fortified structure can be built for a future of Peace, Hope, Purpose, and Healthy existence.
