VFW Day Of Service
On May 6th, members of the Mountain City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6908 and its Auxiliary came to Peace Mountain Ranch as part of the VFW Day Of Service. This year’s Day of Service, with the theme of #StillServing, was a campaign to highlight the countless ways veterans continue to serve in communities across America.
The volunteers from Post 6908 helped to spruce up the grounds by painting buildings and fence posts. Volunteers started arriving around 0900 and were treated to coffee, cinnamon rolls, and a hearty welcome!

One group prepared the outbuildings and barn for painting by scrapping old paint and moving items away from the buildings.
A second group used a commercial paint sprayer to paint outbuildings and barn.
A third group scraped and painted several fence posts.
The volunteers worked for over 5 hours and were treated to hamburgers cooked by Chaplain Macklin himself! When they left, all of the outbuildings and the barn had been painted red and several of the fence posts are white again. The next step is to paint the trim on the outbuildings and barn before our Open House on June 11th.
Thank you Post 6908 for all the hard work and great camaraderie!
