Fun for a Good Cause
Looking for a fun time that will help a great cause? Well, have we got a deal for you! On October 21, 2023, Peace Mountain Ranch will host its first major fundraising event. We will be at the Villa Nove Farm and Vineyard from 12 noon until 2:00 pm. If you haven’t been to Villa Nove, the view is always spectacular; it should be even more spectacular as that time of Autumn should be near peak leaf peeping time!
Villa Nove Farm & Vineyard is the place where Tuscany meets Tennessee! Villa Nove exists to cultivate the region’s local winemaking; and each visit is punctuated with great wine, wonderful people, and good times. Located in the hills of Appalachian High Country, Villa Nove’s ten varieties of sweet Blue Ridge grapes are used to make delicious wines served against vineyard-laced hills leading up to their breathtaking Tuscan-inspired pavilion.
This event won’t disappoint. We will start with a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, and potato salad. After lunch you will have the opportunity to partake in a wine tasting and a cheese tasting while enjoying those great views. For the wine tasting, enjoy a few of the varieties originating at the vineyard itself. Every glass allows you to taste the unique terroir of our rich local region. Sample from a variety of light and fruity whites or the most robust but well-balanced reds. The cheese tasting will be sponsored by Knerr’s Vintage Treasures and will feature cheeses from Walnut Creek Cheese and Market out of Ohio, featuring cheeses from the heart of Ohio’s Amish country. Knerr’s Vintage Treasures and Pappy’s Gang Sporting Goods is located at 129 W Main St, Mountain City, TN 37683 and offers a variety of goods. Aside from a large selection of antiques and collectibles, the business features a general store with Amish jams and Jellies, Walnut Creek Cheeses, Ashe County cheese curds, and butter, to name a few. Pappy’s Gang Sporting Goods, located in the back of the store, offers hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping accessories.
There will be a silent auction including opportunities to bid on several wonderful items and gift baskets. Anticipated items include two beautiful quilts from local artisans in Mountain City, TN; chocolates from Boone Chocolat of Creston, NC; a gift basket from Appalachian Sun Brewery in Elizabethton, TN including a growler and other merchandise; a gift basket featuring a box of truffles from Bellafina Chocolates out of Kingsport, TN and a bottle of wine from Watauga Lake winery; a gift basket featuring a gift certificate from Mountain View Nursery of Mountain City, TN; a gift basket featuring Know Better Coffee of Mountain City and Nautilus Pottery; and much more!
