Victory! Step three is done.
WOW! Am I sore. 29 hole have been drilled, 45 wheelbarrows full of dirt have been removed, 50 bags of concrete have been delivered for the setting of the exterior building post, and the rock retaining wall has been propped ready for the framing to begin.
My next door neighbor Bennie came over yesterday and help out for a couple hours. The auger on the tractor was proving to be quite a challenge so Bennie brought his Skid-steer over with a more precise drilling system. It was amazing. I drilled 7 holes the day before in 4 hours and he drilled 22 holes in less than 2 hours. His was straight and mine were a mess. I had to hand dig and reposition all of my holes and his holes only had minor adjustment once on a while. WHAT AN AMAZING HELP!
Soooo! My body needs a couples days to recoup and then the framing of the building will begin. I way under estimated the time, man power and cost it would take to level the ground, materials needed, and preparing the ground so I could be ready to set post and begin framing the Carriage House. This has been a great learning experience. I will put out a video today.
Keep tuned – I will keep you updated.
