A Celebrated Opening – Carriage House

A cold and rainy afternoon could not dampen the spirits of the people who attended the Grand Opening of the Carriage House. The Carriage House is an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant apartment complete with a walk-in/roll-in wheelchair accessible shower, a complete kitchen, a dining/meeting room that can hold over twenty people and a wheelchair accessible board walk connecting the Carriage House to the main house.

Another supporter was WestCare Tennessee, a provider focused on mental health wellbeing. Each WestCare program is part of a continuum of person-centered, trauma-informed care. WestCare Tennessee provided coffee and information for the Grand Opening.

A local favorite, Tink’s Treats by Tracie, provided cookies, muffins, and pumpkin bread. Tink’s Treats by Tracie is a Johnson County, Tennessee based small business that creates true homemade sweet breads, cupcakes, and desserts.

Mountain Arms and Ammunition is a local firearms dealer who facilitated transfer of the main prize for the raffle, a .22 caliber rifle which was donated by a good friend of Peace Mountain Ranch Joe Kaelin. Mountain Arms and Ammunition is a Federal Firearms Licensee, (FFL) and they facilitate firearm transfers, sell firearms and related items, fishing gear, and they have a General Store inside their building with cold drinks, Amish food, local bakers, and so much more.

Veterans who need a more immersive experience can stay in the Carriage House while experiencing the healing environment at Peace Mountain Ranch. This apartment is going to help Peace Mountain Ranch reach even more people who are looking for peace and healing. Hosting Veterans takes money, and that is where we need your help. There is over $40,000 of debt remaining on this project and servicing that debt takes away from taking care of Veterans.

We are so thankful for all the people who helped make the Carriage House a reality and all who helped make the Grand Opening a success. Overall Peace Mountain Ranch raised over $2,800 between the proceeds from the raffle and donations at the Grand Opening. If you weren’t able to attend the Grand Opening, please arrange a visit, you won’t be disappointed!

Are you someone who wants to help Veterans? PMR wouldn’t exist without the love and support of people like you. We simply ask that you pray for us and consider supporting us financially so that we can continue to help Veterans. To give please visit our donation page.
